WAYNE RYAN – ACHIEVEMENTS

May 2008 was the start of Wayne’s full road racing career, despite missing the first two rounds of the Championship due to his age, missing the MotoGP support round in the summer through injury and missing our Welsh round at Anglesey due to lack of funding, he still managed to finish fifth overall.
His results below tell you a lot about what talent he has, having never qualified below the front two rows amongst a grid of 40 strong competitors and never finishing outside the top eight with the exception of a mechanical failure at Pembrey and a DNF at Brands Hatch.

2008 Stats ~ Aprilia Superteen Championship ~ Thundersport GB

Cadwell Park – Qualified: 8th
Results Race 1: 8th   Race 2:1st*   Race 3: 2nd   Race 4: 2nd

Wayne became the youngest ever winner of an Aprilia Superteen race at 12 years and two weeks old.

Brands Hatch – Qualified: 8th
Results Race 1: 8th   Race 2: 6th *   Race 3: 4th   Race 4: DNF**

Wayne finishes sixth amongst a nine bike freight train as all bikes finish with 1.5 seconds of eachother, voted the best Thundersport GB race of 2008.

Wayne’s first and only crash of 2008 as he becomes tangled in a six bike pile up.

Snetterton – 

Qualified: 2nd

Mallory Park –

Qualified: 8th
Results Race 1: 4th   Race 2: 5th  (One day race format)

Pembrey –  

Qualified: 6th

Wayne’s power valve became disconnected but instead of pulling in, he went on to finish inside the top 20

Donington Park –

Qualified: 4th
Results Race 1: 1st    Race 2: 6th  (One day race format*)

The final round of the Championship saw Wayne take his second victory of the year and then found himself amongst a great battle for first in race two with seven bikes crossing the line within 1.6 seconds of each other.

 Wayne also attended the famous 'Race of the year' event at Mallory Park where the Aprilia Superteens raced in a 'no points' round. Wayne came from the second row to finish second in race one and storm to victory in race two.
